THE EDUCATOR
Teaching has always been about more than the lesson.
For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of being in the classroom, learning alongside my students and continually searching for better ways to make reading, writing, and learning meaningful.
Today, I share what I’ve learned through teaching, professional presentations, educational writing, and resources created for educators.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I Believe Learning Should Make Us Curious.
The best lessons don’t end when the class does. They leave students with another question, another idea to explore, or a new way of looking at something they thought they already understood.
My approach to teaching is grounded in:
Curiosity
Encouraging students to ask questions, explore ideas, and think beyond the obvious.
Connection
Helping students connect what they read and learn to their own experiences and the world around them.
Critical Thinking
Creating opportunities for students to question, analyze, interpret, and develop their own perspectives.
Creativity
Making space for students to experiment with ideas, language, writing, and different ways of expressing themselves.

Sharing What I’ve Learned
Teaching has given me countless lessons worth sharing beyond my own classroom.
I’ve had the opportunity to bring my experiences and ideas to professional education communities through conference presentations and published writing, connecting with educators who are equally passionate about helping students become stronger readers, writers, and thinkers.

Sharing our teaching experiences is an important step to becoming better educators.

Still Learning. Still Asking Questions. Still Teaching.
The classroom continues to be one of my greatest teachers.
Every group of students brings new questions, new challenges, and new opportunities to rethink how we learn. I'm grateful to continue learning from that experience—and to share some of it along the way.
